Killers of the Flower Moon : Brendan Fraser et John Lithgow ont-ils été coupés au montage ?
Martin Scorsese cut scenes with Brendan Fraser and John Lithgow in Killers of the Flower Moon?
The official Apple site no longer lists the two actors in the cast.
Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese and based on a screenplay by Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, The Insider, Munich), will be presented at the Cannes Film Festival in May through a partnership between Apple and Paramount, before its official release in theaters on October 18th. This drama is based on the book by David Grann that tells the story of a series of murders of members of the Osage community, a wealthy and well-connected Native American tribe of the 1920s based in Oklahoma, that were investigated by the recently founded FBI, and known as the « Reign of Terror. »
The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone in the lead roles, along with Jesse Plemons, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, and Tantoo Cardinal, all mentioned in the Cannes Festival press release. However, the previously announced Brendan Fraser and John Lithgow are not mentioned in either the Cannes Festival release or on the official Apple film page.
Is it an oversight? Are their roles too small to be cited alongside other actors? Or were they simply cut from the film? This would be ironic for a movie that has an announced runtime of « nearly four hours! »
We’ll find out soon, as Killers of the Flower Moon will be screened at Cannes on May 20th.
